HEPA FILTERS

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the air in average indoor spaces contains air that is more polluted than the air outside. Since Americans spend up to ninety percent of their lives inside, it’s important to be aware of products that can increase the quality of indoor air.

The HEPA filter, or the high-efficiency particle-arresting filter, is also known as an air scrubber. It is a machine roughly the size of a large suitcase that is designed to clean indoor air and free it from dangerous particles, making it safer to breathe. Although everyone could benefit from cleaner air, certain people including asthmatics, women who are pregnant or nursing, allergy sufferers, the elderly, babies and young children, and sick people can be helped significantly through the use of these machines. HEPA filters clean the air by drawing it through filters and intercepting 99.97 % of the microscopic particles such as harmful airborne viruses and bacteria, pollen, pet dander, smoke, soot, dust, molds, fungal spores, dust mites, chemicals, and odors. Hence, the musty smell.
